About me

Katrina Williams
I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist with over 30 years experience of working in mental health. I am compassionate and experienced at working with adults with mental health needs. My journey into therapy started during my mental health nursing training where I worked within a local family therapy unit, from there I completed my NMC CBT qualification. I worked on adult acute admission wards, within substance misuse and then community mental health services where I furthered my CBT journey by training in CBT-e (eating disorders) before undertaking my CBT certificate and Diploma at Cardiff University.
My aim is to provide a safe, supportive and collaborative space where we can work together to help you achieve lasting change. I provide evidence-based CBT to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, low self-esteem and eating difficulties
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBTe, CBT-T, CBT-AN20 and Schema Informed Therapy

Katrina (Kat) is amazing, and I'd highly recommend her to anyone thinking about starting therapy.
I can't thank Kat enough for everything she's done for me. Even though I'd recovered from an eating disorder, I started having difficult thoughts around food again and was worried about where they might lead. It was having a real impact on my day-to-day life.
From the very first session, Kat made me feel comfortable enough to talk openly. She listened without judgement, helped me make sense of what I was experiencing, and always made me feel understood. I never felt embarrassed or ashamed to be honest with her.
Thanks to our sessions, I feel much more in control, more confident around food, and far kinder to myself than I was before. I'm so grateful for Kat's support and the difference she's made to my life. Thank you Kat ❤️

I honestly don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t found Kat.
Before meeting her, I’d had lots of help for OCD, but sadly some of it had actually made things worse. Kat was different. She understood OCD, and understood me so well from the get go. She supported me through some of the darkest periods of my life with OCD, and then again when I experienced postpartum OCD. I felt I could trust her with the thoughts I wouldn’t share with anyone else. And had the skills to help me get better.
She understood me, challenged me when I needed it, believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself, and somehow helped me find my way back to me.
Kat didn’t just help me manage OCD — she gave me my life back. She taught me how to live it, enjoy it and embrace it, rather than simply exist. And has given me skill for life so I can manage my OCD when it rears its ugly head!
I can genuinely say that meeting Kat changed the trajectory of my life, and I will never stop being grateful for her.
